First, familiarize yourself with core controls: use the 8-way joystick to move your Sylfers fighter, tap the fire button for regular rapid shots, and hold the button for 2 full seconds to charge a high-powered blast that can pierce multiple enemies and destroy heavily armored targets. For early levels, stick to the lower third of the screen at all times: this gives you the maximum possible reaction time to dodge incoming projectiles spawned from off-screen at the top. POW power-ups are your most valuable resource, so never grab one immediately when it spawns: wait until you are surrounded by 3 or more enemy units, then collect it to turn all nearby foes into wingmen that provide extra firepower and block up to 3 incoming bullets before disappearing. For boss fights, first prioritize destroying all small turrets on the boss hull before targeting the core: each boss has a visible glowing weak point that takes 3x damage, so aim all charged shots at this spot to cut fight time in half. For example, the Stage 1 Fortress Boss fires wide, slow-moving fan-shaped barrages, so dodge by making small, consistent left-right movements instead of sharp vertical jumps. If you are chasing a high score, clear every enemy in each spawned wave to unlock a 500-point combo bonus, and keep an eye out for the hidden 1-up item that drops when you destroy the purple cargo ship halfway through Stage 3. For later levels with high bullet density, avoid hovering directly behind your wingmen, as they can block your view of small, fast-moving projectiles that can take out your ship in one hit. Finally, don’t waste charged shots on small, weak enemy fighters: save them for dense enemy formations and armored mid-bosses to maximize their value.
