Mastering Dogyuun’s core mechanics is key to clearing all 10 levels and earning high scores, even on its default difficulty setting. First, familiarize yourself with the three core weapon types: red spread shot is ideal for clearing large groups of small enemy units that spawn from all directions, blue laser fire deals the highest single-target damage for boss fights, and green homing missiles automatically track off-screen enemies so you can focus on dodging incoming bullets. Each weapon can be upgraded up to 4 times by collecting matching colored orbs, but switching to a different weapon will reset your upgrade progress, so stick to one weapon type for each run unless you absolutely need to swap to handle a specific level challenge. The game’s signature merge mechanic is your most powerful tool: once you collect a G item to unlock your wingman, hold down the fire button for 2 seconds to merge both fighters into one. While merged, you deal 200% damage, but taking a single hit will break the merge and cost you your wingman, so only activate the merge during boss fights or dense enemy waves where you can prioritize dodging. Save your bomb items for emergency situations: each bomb clears all on-screen bullets and deals massive area-of-effect damage, so don’t waste them on small groups of enemies. For newer players, start by memorizing enemy spawn patterns in the first three levels: the third level’s flying fortress boss has a weak point at its central core, so focus all fire there once it pauses its spread attack to take it down in under 30 seconds. If you’re chasing high scores, maintain your combo multiplier by avoiding gaps in enemy kills, as each consecutive kill adds a stacking bonus to your final score.
