Mastering Demon Front’s core mechanics is key to clearing all 7 levels without running out of continues, starting with learning its basic control scheme first: use the 8-way joystick to move your character, press the A button to fire your primary weapon, B to jump, C to trigger your pet’s active ability, and D to throw explosive grenades. For new players, we recommend starting with Jake first, as his balanced stats, moderate fire rate, and average movement speed make him the most forgiving character for learning level layouts and enemy patterns. The pet companion system is your most valuable asset: hold the C button to toggle your pet between attack and shield modes. In attack mode, your pet fires matching elemental projectiles to boost your total damage output, perfect for clearing waves of small grunt enemies. In shield mode, your pet absorbs all incoming bullets for 3 seconds, but consumes a chunk of its energy bar each time you use it. Wait 5 to 7 seconds between shield uses to let the pet’s energy bar recharge fully, and always save shield uses for boss encounters or tight situations where you are surrounded by enemy fire. Hold down the A button for 2 seconds to charge a powerful heavy attack, which deals 5x normal damage to elite enemies and boss weak points, and is far more ammo-efficient than spamming regular shots. Prioritize collecting power-up items as you progress: golden P icons upgrade your primary weapon up to 3 levels (note that you lose all weapon upgrades if you lose a life), green H icons restore 1 full health bar, blue E icons refill your pet’s energy bar completely, and S icons give you a 10-second movement speed boost to outrun dangerous attacks. For the first level’s jungle worm boss, focus your charged shots on its glowing open mouth weak point, and use your pet’s shield to block its acid spit attacks to avoid taking unnecessary damage.
