First, master each character’s unique strengths to suit your playstyle before jumping into 3-player co-op: King is the best all-rounder with balanced speed and damage, ideal for new players; Fuma has the fastest attack speed and best combo potential for experienced players; Buster deals the highest damage per hit but is slow, perfect for players who prefer tanking hits; G.I. Hose has the longest reach, great for keeping enemies at a distance in crowded fights. When playing in 3-player mode, split roles to avoid overlapping damage: assign one player to handle fast-moving knife-wielding grunts that spawn off-screen, one to tackle heavy, high-health enemy brutes that charge your team, and one to prioritize collecting health pickups and weapons to distribute to low-health teammates. Always prioritize picking up throwable objects like crates and barrels first when they appear on screen: a single well-thrown crate can take out up to four grouped enemies at once, saving you from taking unnecessary chip damage during crowded encounters. Save your special screen-clearing attack (activated by pressing punch and kick at the same time) for when you are completely surrounded by 5 or more enemies, or when facing a boss’s supporting minion wave, as it costs a chunk of your health to use and is wasted on small groups of 2 or 3 regular grunts.
