Mastering Danger Track requires a mix of careful route planning, resource management, and quick reflexes, especially given its faster enemy AI compared to the original Rally X. First, familiarize yourself with the core controls: use an 8-way joystick to steer your rally car in any direction, and press the single action button to deploy a smoke screen. Start each level by checking the mini-map at the bottom of your screen, which marks the location of all yellow flags, enemy cars, and hidden rock obstacles unique to this bootleg. Plan your route to collect the closest flags first to build up your score multiplier: Danger Track awards a 2x multiplier for every 3 consecutive flags you collect without taking damage, so avoiding unnecessary detours will drastically boost your final score. Conserve your smoke screens carefully: you only get 3 per level, and they do not refill until you clear all flags on the current stage. Only deploy a smoke screen when you are cornered in a dead end, or when 2 or more enemy cars are directly on your tail and you cannot lose them by weaving through tight turns. The enemy AI in Danger Track struggles to navigate sharp, narrow corridors, so use the maze’s winding passages to shake off single pursuers instead of wasting your limited smoke supplies. Keep an eye out for the special bonus flag that spawns 30 seconds into every level: collecting it grants you 10,000 bonus points and an extra smoke screen, which is critical for surviving later levels where the number of enemy cars jumps from 3 to 6 at level 5. Finally, avoid hitting the small grey rock obstacles scattered across levels 4 and above: colliding with one will slow your car to a stop for 2 full seconds, almost always giving enemies enough time to catch up and end your run.
