Crazy Kong

Mastering Crazy Kong takes precise timing, pattern recognition, and quick reflexes, as its faster movement speed and more aggressive enemy spawns make it noticeably more challenging than similar platformers of its era. For the first Construction Site level, prioritize learning barrel rolling patterns first: most barrels will roll straight across platforms and drop off edges, while a small percentage will bounce down ladders, so never linger on the middle of a ladder for more than a second. When you pick up a hammer power-up, avoid jumping while holding it, as the hammer’s hitbox only registers when you are standing on solid ground, letting you smash through barrels and fire enemies for extra points without taking damage. For the second Conveyor Belt level, keep an eye on the direction of the conveyor belts under your feet, as they shift direction every 5 to 7 seconds without warning. Watch for the small shadow of falling construction debris above your head, and move out of the way within 2 seconds of the shadow appearing to avoid taking a hit. For the third Elevator level, time your jumps between ascending and descending elevators carefully: wait until an elevator has fully stopped at your level for at least half a second before jumping, to avoid slipping off the edge. The leaping fire enemies on this level have a fixed jump height, so you can safely run under them mid-jump or leap over them when they land on a platform. For the final Rivet level, work your way from the outermost rivets to the center one, as this cuts down on unnecessary backtracking that can lead to run-ins with crawling enemy spawns. Each rivet only needs one stomp to remove, and after you take out the last central rivet, Kong will fall and you will clear the stage. Extra lives are awarded at 10,000 points and every 20,000 points after that, so prioritize grabbing bonus fruit items when they spawn to rack up points quickly.
