First, prioritize the Spread Gun (marked with a blue "S" power-up) above all other weapons: its 3-way wide spread fire clears crowds of ground and air enemies in seconds, and is effective against every boss in the game. Avoid the Fireball (F) power-up unless you have no other option, as its slow, arcing trajectory is unreliable for fast-paced encounters. For base levels (the top-down vertical stages), ignore minor enemies wherever possible: focus fire on the glowing core at the end of each corridor to advance quickly, as lingering will trigger endless enemy spawns that drain your lives. When playing in two-player co-op, split responsibilities to avoid overlapping and losing both lives to a single projectile: assign one player to handle air enemies and high-placed turrets, while the other clears ground troops and low-hanging threats. For the waterfall stage, wait for moving platforms to fully stop before jumping, and keep your fire aimed upward to take out falling enemy soldiers before they get close enough to hit you. When fighting bosses, always keep moving in a consistent side-to-side pattern to avoid predictable projectile paths: for the first stage’s large bunker boss, take out the two side turrets first before focusing fire on the central core, and never stand still for more than a second.
