First, familiarize yourself with the basic control scheme: left/right inputs move your character across the level platform, the jump button lets you clear small gaps and avoid low-bouncing bubbles, and the fire button launches your harpoon projectile. Always prioritize targeting the largest bubbles on screen first: a single large bubble moves far slower and takes up more screen space than multiple small ones, and splitting it early reduces the risk of getting trapped as bubbles multiply. Never fire your projectile when standing directly under a bouncing bubble, as your shot has a short travel time and the bubble can bounce down onto you before your hit lands. Since this is the Rev C Japan release, take full advantage of its rebalanced bonus level spawns: every 5 levels, you unlock a bonus stage where you can collect extra lives, temporary invincibility power-ups, and score multipliers, so make sure to grab every floating coin in these stages to stock up on resources for the harder late-game levels.
