First, take time to test each of the four playable characters first to find the one that matches your playstyle: if you prefer wide, spread fire that clears out groups of small enemies easily, pick the cowboy character with the spread shot ship; if you want concentrated, high-damage fire for taking down bosses fast, go for the female outlaw with the narrow laser fire. Always prioritize picking up power-ups as soon as they drop: each power-up level increases your primary fire damage and spread significantly, and losing all your power-ups when you die can make even basic enemy waves almost impossible to clear. Save your special bomb abilities for tight spots only: each bomb clears all enemy projectiles on the screen and deals massive damage to any nearby enemies, so don’t waste them on small groups of regular enemies – keep them for when you are surrounded by bullets or fighting a boss’s high-damage attack phase. Pay close attention to enemy spawn patterns: most enemy waves spawn in the same order and position every run, so if you die to a specific wave, remember where the enemies come from next time to avoid getting caught off guard.
