Armed Police Batrider (Korea) (Fri Feb 13 1998)

Released for Korean arcade cabinets on February 13, 1998 by legendary shoot ‘em up developer Raizing (later merged with Eighting), Armed Police Batrider (Korea) is a high-octane vertically scrolling arcade STG that remains a fan favorite among retro shooting game enthusiasts decades after its launch. Set in a dystopian 2014 version of Manhattan, where the unregulated tech conglomerate GiganTech has turned the city into a warzone of rogue AI drones and hired mercenaries, the game follows the elite Zero Police Squadron as they deploy custom-built Batrider attack crafts to storm GiganTech’s fortified headquarters and take down its corrupt executive board. This Korean regional release features fully localized Korean menu text and story cutscenes, minor difficulty tweaks tailored for local arcade audiences, and full 2-player co-op support for team runs. Players can choose from 9 unique playable pilots, each with their own distinct main weapon, sub-weapon loadout, and charged special attack,

Game Guide

Whether you’re picking up Armed Police Batrider (Korea) for the first time or chasing a full one-credit clear (1CC) of the challenging Advanced Mode, these actionable tips will help you survive GiganTech’s defenses and climb the global leaderboards. First, select a pilot and mode that align with your skill level. If you’re new to vertical STGs, start with Practice Mode and pick the pilot Rain: her wide spread shot covers 70% of the screen to take out swarms of small drones easily, and her charged attack deals consistent high damage to bosses without requiring perfect aim. For veteran players chasing high scores, pick Bowie, who has a narrow high-damage laser, faster movement speed, and a 1.2x score multiplier for all close-shot kills. Master your two most important tools early: the charged attack and Bat Bomb. Hold your fire button for 2 full seconds to trigger a charged attack, which deals 3x regular damage and cancels all enemy projectiles in its path, making it perfect for breaking through dense bullet waves. Only use your Bat Bomb when you have no other escape route: you start with 3 bombs per life, and extra bomb pickups do not carry over when you lose a life, so wasting them on minor enemy swarms will leave you defenseless against boss attack patterns. For all runs, prioritize collecting gold P power-ups first to max out your weapon as early as possible: a max-level weapon deals 200% more damage than a base-level weapon, and makes the first three stage bosses trivial to beat. When fighting bosses, stay in the bottom 1/3 of the screen at all times to give yourself maximum reaction time to dodge incoming bullets, as most boss attack patterns are designed to target the center and top of the screen first. For 2-player co-op runs, coordinate with your partner to cover separate halves of the screen, and share power-ups evenly so both players stay at full combat strength. For Advanced Mode runs, save at least 2 bombs for the final GiganTech Core boss, whose 3-phase b
