Mastering Anteater’s core mechanics and level patterns will help you beat every level and set record high scores without wasting lives. First, always prioritize locating the queen ant as soon as you spawn into a new level. The queen ant is usually positioned in the deepest, most remote section of the maze, and eating it will instantly eliminate 50% of the active soldier ants on the map, drastically reducing your navigation pressure for the rest of the level. Second, never leave your tongue extended for longer than necessary. When you extend your tongue to eat larvae or worker ants, your anteater’s body is completely immobile, leaving you vulnerable to soldier ants that may creep up from tunnels behind or beside you. Only extend your tongue for 1 to 2 seconds at a time, and retract it immediately after collecting the target item to stay mobile. Third, use the maze’s sharp corners to outmaneuver soldier ants. Soldier ants follow simple linear movement patterns and cannot turn quickly, so if you are being chased, lead the ant to a tight corner, make a quick turn, and run in the opposite direction to lose the pursuer almost every time. Fourth, take full advantage of bonus stages that unlock every 3 completed levels. Bonus stages have no soldier ants, only high-value larvae and bonus golden ant items that award 10x the points of standard larvae, so you can explore the entire maze freely to maximize your score without any risk. Finally, never loiter near the maze entrance for more than 30 seconds. The game spawns extra soldier ants from the entrance at 30 second intervals if you have not completed at least 25% of the level, so push into the maze as quickly as possible to avoid being swarmed by extra enemies early on.
