First, master the core control scheme to gain an edge over Xenomorph swarms: your standard shot is the infinite-ammo pulse rifle, but you can hold down the fire button to charge a burst shot that deals 3x damage to clustered enemies, ideal for taking out groups of facehuggers and drone variants. Always prioritize picking up limited-use special weapons when they drop from defeated enemies or breakable crates: the flamethrower is the best choice for close-quarter corridor sections, as it can penetrate multiple Xenomorphs and set approaching swarms on fire before they reach you, while the smart gun auto-targets off-screen enemies, making it perfect for the level 3 ventilation shaft sequences where Xenomorphs attack from all directions. If you’re playing co-op, assign roles to your partner: have one player use the rocket launcher to deal with heavy targets like Praetorian Xenomorphs and armored drones, while the other uses the flamethrower or smart gun to clear smaller swarms and protect both players from facehuggers that drop from ceiling vents. Always keep an eye out for hidden colonist rescue spots scattered across each level: rescuing 3 or more colonists in a single level grants you a permanent health boost and an extra life, a critical bonus for surviving the later high-difficulty levels. For the Xenomorph Queen boss fight at the end of level 6, focus your fire on her head and torso, and avoid standing in one spot for more than 2 seconds: her tail swipe can take off 70% of your health in one hit, and her acid spit attack covers a wide horizontal range. Always stay near the left side of the boss arena, and use charged pulse rifle bursts or rocket shots when she pauses to roar, as this is the only window where her weak points are fully exposed. Never waste special weapon ammo on the small drone minions she summons during the fight: you can take these out with standard charged shots to save your heavy fire for the Queen herself.
