For new players, prioritize picking up homing missile power-ups first, as these automatically track enemy targets and let you focus on dodging incoming fire instead of aiming. Spread shot power-ups are ideal for clearing large waves of incoming fighter formations, while laser beams deal the highest damage to heavy armored targets like stage bosses and ground battleships.
