Yoshi - Topsy-Turvy’s core tilt-based gravity mechanic is the key to beating every level, so mastering it will make your playthrough far smoother. First, get comfortable with small tilts instead of large, sudden flips: small adjustments to your GBA’s angle will let you control Yoshi’s movement and momentum without sending him flying off edges into pits or enemies. For challenging platforming sections where you need to reach a high ledge, tilt the console so gravity pulls Yoshi along the vertical wall to slide him up to the platform, rather than trying to jump directly from the ground. Your main goal in each level is to collect enough Spirit Points to unlock the exit, so prioritize grabbing colored orbs and defeating enemies to fill your meter quickly. If you’re going for 100% completion, keep an eye out for hidden egg blocks tucked away behind walls or in off-path sections: these unlock bonus concept art and extras once you collect enough. When fighting bosses, use the tilt mechanic to your advantage: for example, against the first forest boss, tilt gravity to drop heavy boulders on top of it rather than jumping to attack directly. For the final Bowser boss fight, tilt the GBA to shift the stage whenever Bowser jumps to avoid his shockwave attack, then counter by tossing eggs at him while he’s off-balance.
