Before you jump into your first level or competitive match, start by mastering the GBA control layout: the D-pad moves your boat left and right across the bottom of the screen, the A button fires your currently loaded bubble, the B button swaps between your special weapon and standard bubble shot, and the start button pauses the game to adjust settings or check your objective. For single-player puzzle mode, your top priority should always be clearing large clustered groups of the same color, rather than picking off small scattered single or double bubbles. Clearing large clusters triggers automatic chain reactions that remove far more bubbles at once, pushing the entire descending grid back up and giving you extra time to plan your next shot. Never waste a shot on a stray single bubble unless it is blocking a clear path to a large matching cluster. When it comes to special weapons, save high-impact explosives like the Banana Bomb and Holy Hand Grenade for emergency situations when the bubble grid is almost at your boat—these can clear dozens of bubbles at once to get you back in control of the level. Sheep Bombs are perfect for hitting hard-to-reach bubbles tucked in the side corners of the grid, as they bounce along the top of the bubble cluster to reach hidden spots. For competitive two-player mode, your goal is to clear bubbles on your side of the screen to send extra unmatched bubbles over to your opponent’s grid, overwhelming their space. Focus on creating large chain reactions to send as many extra bubbles over as possible, and save your weapons to break up large threatening clusters that your opponent has built up. If you are stuck on a tough late-game level, try to plan 2-3 shots ahead instead of firing as fast as possible. Most levels can be cleared with strategic shot placement instead of luck, so take advantage of the open space at the start of each level to set up big chain reactions early.
