Vecinos Invasores (Spain)

Vecinos Invasores (translated “Invading Neighbors”) is a charming, humorous independent action puzzle game released exclusively for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) in 2006, developed and published by Spanish indie studio Bebit GBA Soft. Created specifically for the Spanish retro homebrew scene, this underrated GBA gem quickly gained a cult following among local handheld fans for its absurd premise, accessible mechanics, and relatable Spanish cultural humor. The game follows a fed-up suburban homeowner whose new next-door neighbors are constantly disrupting his peaceful routine: they throw late-night raucous parties, trample his prize rose garden, leave trash on his lawn, and pester him with uninvited visits at all hours of the day. Fed up with the chaos, you take matters into your own hands, pulling increasingly silly pranks to get back at your invasive neighbors and convince them to move out of the neighborhood for good. Unlike big-budget commercial GBA releases of the mid-2000s, Vecinos I

Game Guide

Vecinos Invasores is easy to pick up for casual players but features increasingly challenging levels as you progress through the neighborhood, so these tips and strategies will help you earn three stars on every stage and drive your invasive neighbors out for good. First, master the core GBA controls to avoid costly mistakes: the D-pad moves your character around yards, fences, and hide spots, the A button activates your pranks and interacts with environmental objects, and the B button lets you sprint to escape when a neighbor catches you pulling a trick. Always prioritize sprinting to the nearest hiding spot immediately if you’re spotted: if a neighbor catches you red-handed, you lose a life, and three failed catches will force you to restart the entire level from the beginning. When planning your prank sequence, start with small, low-risk tricks early on to build up your prank unlocks without putting you on the neighbor’s radar too quickly. Early levels only give you access to simple gags like throwing water balloons or flattening their mailbox, but as you clear stages, you’ll unlock more impactful pranks like letting the air out of their car tires, gluing their front door shut, or rearranging their garden gnomes into silly, embarrassing shapes that raise their annoyance meter far faster. Each neighbor has a full annoyance tolerance meter: fill it completely to force them to move out and clear the level. Always hide behind bushes or behind fences immediately after pulling a prank: neighbors will investigate the area after a prank, and if you’re well-hidden, they’ll never connect it to you and will eventually calm down and return inside. One of the most common mistakes new players make is pulling multiple pranks back-to-back too quickly: this puts the neighbor on permanent high alert, making them patrol the yard nonstop and leaving almost no openings for you to pull more tricks. Instead, wait 10 to 15 seconds between pranks, let the neighbor calm down and head back
