Tiny Toon Adventures - Scary Dreams (USA)

Tiny Toon Adventures: Scary Dreams (USA) launched for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) in 2001, published by Konami as a charming licensed platformer based on Warner Bros.' beloved Tiny Toon Adventures animated series. The story follows Buster Bunny, who gets trapped in a twisted, spooky nightmare world after reading a scary bedtime story right before falling asleep. To wake up and return to Acme Acres, Buster has to traverse multiple themed nightmare levels full of menacing monsters and tricky obstacles. Unlike more lighthearted entries in the Tiny Toon franchise, Scary Dreams leans into gentle spooky themes, with levels set in haunted cemeteries, ghostly castles, cursed toy factories, and shadowy forests that fit its Halloween-inspired premise. The game leverages the GBA's hardware to deliver bright, cartoonish graphics that perfectly capture the zany energy of the original animated show, with smooth platforming controls that feel responsive even for modern players. Game Guide

To get the most out of Tiny Toon Adventures: Scary Dreams, start by mastering Buster's core moves first. Buster can jump, slide, and throw carrot projectiles to defeat enemies, but many new players miss the slide-jump trick: press the slide button mid-jump to gain extra height and distance, which lets you reach out-of-the-way platforms and hidden areas required to 100% complete the game. Collect every golden carrot you find across levels: 100 golden carrots grant you an extra life, which is critical for surviving tough late-game boss fights. Keep an eye out for faint cracks on walls throughout levels—these mark breakable hidden rooms that hold extra lives, rare collectibles, and shortcuts. For haunted cemetery levels, remember that floating ghost enemies cannot be defeated with regular carrot throws, so slide past them quickly to avoid unnecessary damage. When facing the first boss, the Giant Wacky Toy, wait for it to slam its fists on your platform before attacking: after each slam, it exposes its battery core on the chest, and three charged carrot throws will take it down quickly. For the final boss fight against Montana Max, who teleports around the arena and throws exploding jack-o-lanterns, stay on the upper edge platforms to dodge explosions easily, and only attack when Max pauses to taunt after a teleport, as this is his only vulnerable window. Save your power-ups for boss fights instead of using them on regular enemies to make tough encounters much easier, and don't skip bonus stages, which grant extra lives and valuable upgrades for Buster's carrot throws.
