To get the most out of your playthrough of Rocket Power - Beach Bandits v0.14 Beta for GBA, start by mastering the core mechanics and character swapping system. Each of the four playable characters has a unique ability required to progress through levels: Otto is the best all-around skater for tricky platforming segments, Reggie outperforms everyone in surfing and speed challenges, Twister can squeeze through small gaps to reach hidden collectibles, and Sam solves technical puzzles to unlock bonus mini-games. When playing online at PLAYERETRO, use your mapped shoulder buttons (or corresponding keyboard keys) to swap characters instantly whenever you hit a roadblock. Collect every seashell you find scattered across levels: these act as in-game currency to unlock new mini-games and permanent character upgrades that make tough challenges much more manageable. For the opening beach racing challenge in this beta, stick to the inside of turns to cut corners and avoid the Beach Bandits’ dirty traps like oil slicks that slow you down. Keep in mind this is an unfinished build, so common bugs include broken collision detection at the edges of open beach areas – avoid wandering too close to the map border to prevent falling out of the game world. If you get stuck, backtrack to the pier checkpoint to reset your position. To beat the beta’s first boss encounter with the lead Bandit, dodge his bulldozer charges and throw collected coconuts at his vehicle to deal damage; three direct hits will defeat him and unlock the next playable area.
