First, for early-game progression: prioritize collecting core attack chips like Wide Sword, Hi-Cannon, and Fire Stage chips in your first 10 hours of play, as these will let you quickly clear random virus battles and early tournament opponents without wasting higher-value chips. As a Red Sun exclusive feature, you can unlock the powerful Sol Cross MegaMan form by completing TorchMan’s optional side quest after you beat the first Eagle Tournament preliminary round. Sol Cross grants permanent immunity to fire panel damage, boosts all fire elemental chip damage by 50%, and lets you charge your standard buster to fire explosive fire shots, making it unbeatable against water-type Navis like BubbleMan and Aquaman. For tournament progression: between every tournament match, explore every corner of both the real world and the internet area, as hidden secret opponents are scattered across each zone that drop rare, version-exclusive chips you cannot get anywhere else. For the European release specifically, do not miss the exclusive Euro Medal side quest: after beating the first tournament, talk to the backpack-wearing tourist near the ACDC Town train station, and complete his request to delete 10 fire viruses in the Undernet to get the limited-edition Euro Medal chip, which deals 400 damage to all enemies on the grid and is not available in any other regional release. When building your battle folder, stick to exactly 30 chips with no more than 5 copies of the same chip, and always include at least 3 recovery chips (Recover 200 or higher), 2 panel grab chips, and 1 barrier chip to handle unexpected boss battle mechanics.
