Kong - The 8th Wonder of the World (USA) (EnFrEs)

Kong: The 8th Wonder of the World (USA) (EnFrEs) is an action-adventure game released for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) in 2005 by Ubisoft, developed to tie into the release of Peter Jackson’s blockbuster King Kong film of the same year. Built specifically for GBA hardware, this portable adaptation brings the tense, atmospheric adventure of Skull Island to handheld players, with full support for English, French, and Spanish languages to suit North American players. Unlike its larger console counterparts, the GBA version blends 2D platforming, puzzle-solving, and epic boss battles to deliver a unique retro handheld experience. Players alternate between two playable perspectives: struggling screenwriter Jack Driscoll, who navigates Skull Island’s dangerous jungles as part of the film expedition, and Kong himself, the legendary giant gorilla who fights off prehistoric predators and human threats to protect Ann Darrow. The game follows the core narrative of the film closely, from the expediti

Game Guide

Whether you’re a first-time player or returning to this GBA classic after decades, these tips will help you survive Skull Island and conquer Kong’s climactic final battle. First, master the core playstyle differences for each character: as Jack Driscoll, your goal is almost always stealth and resource management, not open combat. Ammo for your weapons is extremely limited throughout jungle sections, so only shoot when you have no other option to escape enemies. Most smaller predators can be avoided by climbing vines or moving around them through hidden side paths, which also often lead to valuable extra health and ammo caches. When navigating platforming sections, wait for swinging vines to reach their peak height before jumping to avoid falling into deadly jungle pits below. For Kong’s boss battles, the key to victory is using the environment to your advantage instead of just spamming punches. When fighting V-Rexes and other giant prehistoric predators, throw loose boulders or debris found around the arena to deal massive damage before you go in for melee attacks. Watch for enemy attack tells: large enemies will roar or rear back before their heavy attacks, so dodge out of the way then counterattack immediately. In the final New York sequence on the Empire State Building, don’t stand near the edge of the platform for long. Focus on taking down one military fighter plane at a time, swatting them out of the air when they get close, instead of trying to hit multiple planes at once. Always save your progress at every camp site you encounter, as the GBA version doesn’t have auto-save between major sections.
