Mastering the core cover mechanic is the key to success in Kill Switch for GBA, so start by getting comfortable with the cover toggle right from the first mission. Always move to solid cover (crates, walls, barriers) after clearing a group of enemies, as staying out in the open will leave you vulnerable to fast enemy fire that can drain your health quickly. Ammo is relatively sparse in the GBA version of the game, so avoid holding down the fire button for long bursts; instead, fire short, controlled bursts when peeking out to conserve ammunition for harder boss fights later. For common enemy types, basic foot soldiers go down in 1-2 well-placed headshots, so always aim high when you peek out. Heavily armored enemies require more bullets to the chest, so wait for them to reload their weapon before you expose yourself to fire. Sniper-focused missions (Missions 4 and 6) require extra caution: enemy snipers can kill you in one hit, so only pop out of cover when you spot the glint of their scope, line up your shot, and return to cover immediately. Don’t waste time killing every enemy on the map: most missions let you advance once you reach a key objective trigger, so prioritize objectives over total enemy kills to save health and ammo. For the final boss fight in the underground control room, use the central console as permanent cover, wait for the wall power cores to light up, shoot them to weaken the boss, then only attack the boss directly once his defenses are down.
