Futari wa PreCure - Arienaai! Yume no Sono wa Daimeikyuu (Japan)

Released in 2004 by Bandai exclusively for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance (GBA), Futari wa PreCure - Arienaai! Yume no Sono wa Daimeikyuu is a charming action-puzzle adventure tied directly to the hit early 2000s magical girl anime Futari wa Pretty Cure. Based on the first season of the long-running franchise, the game follows original Cures Nagisa Misumi (Cure Black) and Honoka Yukishiro (Cure White) as they enter the mysterious Dream Garden, a sprawling labyrinth where evil forces have trapped the peaceful dreams of humans. Unlike many licensed anime games of the era, this title blends light platforming combat with clever maze exploration that encourages players to switch between the two lead characters to overcome obstacles. Its bright, colorful GBA graphics perfectly capture the whimsical, energetic tone of the anime, with adapted background music that will feel instantly familiar to franchise fans. Targeted at younger players and long-time PreCure fans alike, this Japan-exclusive r

Game Guide

This Japan-exclusive GBA PreCure adventure relies on smart character switching and exploration to conquer its giant labyrinth, so use these tips to make your run smoother. First, get comfortable with your two leads’ unique strengths: Nagisa (Cure Black) has higher attack power and can break cracked weak walls that hide bonus rooms and items, while Honoka (Cure White) moves faster and can spot hidden doorways that are invisible to Nagisa. Use the L and R shoulder buttons to swap characters on the fly whenever you hit a new section. When exploring each maze floor, always keep an eye out for glowing flowers: these are not just save points, they also point you toward the exit key you need to progress to the next floor. Don’t rush straight to the exit, though—many floors hide hidden treasure chests with healing items, extra lives, and collectible Dream Emblems, which you need to unlock the game’s true ending. For boss battles, start by observing the boss’s attack pattern before striking. Most bosses have a visible weak point on their back or head after they finish an attack combo: swap to Nagisa to deal heavy damage during these openings, then swap back to Honoka to dodge quickly if the boss charges. If you get lost in the later large maze floors, keep track of branching paths by marking paths you’ve already cleared—many dead ends still hold valuable collectibles, so backtrack after you get the exit key to grab anything you missed. Finally, don’t forget to check the main menu after collecting new emblems to unlock bonus character art and concept sketches that are exclusive to 100% playthroughs.
