First, memorize each character’s core ability to avoid getting stuck: Ed has the brute strength needed to move heavy boulders and playground equipment, break through weak wooden walls, and carry large items to access new areas. If you run into a blocked path or a heavy object you can’t interact with as the other two Eds, swap to Ed first. Double D (Edd) is your go-to for all technical interactions: he can open locked gates, fix broken switches, crack access panels, and reach out-of-the-way interactables with his extended toolkit. Never leave a section of a level without checking if there’s a locked box or hidden panel only Double D can open, because most rare jawbreaker collectibles are locked behind these interactions. Eddy is the fastest of the three, with a higher vertical jump that lets him cross small gaps and reach elevated platforms the other two Eds can’t. He’s also your best choice for chasing down moving targets and navigating fast-paced platforming sections. Prioritize collecting every jawbreaker you find: hidden jawbreakers unlock bonus concept art, character bios, and extra challenge stages that add hours of extra content to the game, so don’t rush through levels to reach the end goal. For co-op puzzles, remember the game is built around teamwork: for example, to cross a large gap, you can have Ed throw Eddy to the other side to activate a switch that lowers a bridge for the whole group. The GBA version uses a password save system instead of internal battery save, so always write down your password after completing a level to avoid losing your progress. If you get stuck, backtrack and test every obstacle with a different character—most hidden paths are obvious once you swap to the right Ed for the interaction.
