First, familiarize yourself with the GBA button layout: the D-pad controls your fighter’s movement across the large horizontally scrolling map, the A button fires your main weapon, and the B button deploys a smart bomb that clears all on-screen enemies. Always save these bombs for emergency swarms, don’t waste them on small groups of weak enemies, as you’ll rarely get extra bombs mid-stage. Your primary non-negotiable objective at all times is protecting humans scattered across the ground: alien abductors will swoop down to grab them, and if they carry a captured human back to their mothership, that human is lost permanently, and the mothership will spawn even more aggressive enemies to overwhelm you. If you shoot down an abductor carrying a human, you can position your fighter under the falling human to catch it, earn massive bonus points, and return it safely to the ground. Always prioritize targeting enemy motherships first: these large ships are the source of most invading forces, so taking them out early cuts down the number of threats you have to track across the map.
