Banjo-Kazooie - Gruntys Revenge (Europe) (EnFrDeEsIt) (Beta)

Released in 2003, Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge was the first portable entry in the beloved Rare Banjo-Kazooie platformer series, published for the Game Boy Advance by THQ. This specific file is the European multilingual beta build, supporting English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian, giving retro game enthusiasts a unique look at the game's development process before its final retail launch. The story picks up right after the events of the original N64 Banjo-Kazooie: the evil witch Gruntilda escapes her underground tomb, and uses time magic to kidnap Kazooie and send Banjo back in time to prevent the two from ever becoming partners. It's up to you to control the pair as they travel through five distinct themed worlds to stop Gruntilda's revenge plot and restore the timeline. Unlike the home console entries, this GBA title adapts the beloved 3D collectathon gameplay into a tight 2D platformer experience that retains all the humor, charm, and iconic character dynamic that made th

Game Guide

Mastering Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge on GBA starts with getting comfortable with core controls: use the D-pad to move Banjo around levels, press the A button to jump, and the B button to activate Banjo's basic egg shooting or Kazooie's quick peck attack. Press the R button to swap between controlling Banjo alone and bringing out Kazooie for her unique abilities, which you will unlock over the course of the adventure to access previously blocked areas. Your primary goals across all five themed worlds are collecting Jiggies, the golden puzzle pieces that unlock new levels, and Music Notes, which open up new sections of the overworld map. Keep an eye out for empty Clanker bottles scattered through every level: collect six of these to trade for a new ability from Bottles the mole, such as the talon trot to cross spike traps, the beak bomb to break cracked walls, and the flight ability to reach high, out-of-reach ledges. When exploring levels, check every high ledge and hidden corner: many Jiggies are hidden behind false walls or require you to complete small side challenges given by NPCs, such as races or timed item collection quests. For the final boss fight against Gruntilda, memorize her attack patterns: she will shoot ranged magic projectiles at you, so use the flight ability to dodge out of the way, then shoot eggs at her weak point on her cauldron when she pauses to reload after each attack sequence. Don't forget that you can revisit old levels any time after unlocking new abilities to collect items you could not reach earlier, so if you are stuck unlocking a new world, backtrack to old stages to hunt for missing Jiggies and Notes. This beta build has a few minor unpolished mechanics, so if you encounter an unexpected soft lock, just restart the level from the last save point on the overworld.
