First, master Jimmy’s core movement early: his double jump is non-negotiable for reaching hidden platforms and dodging enemy attacks, so practice timing your second jump to clear wide gaps early in your playthrough. Always collect every piece of scrap metal you find along the way — this resource lets you repair and upgrade Jimmy’s gadgets mid-level, which is critical for getting past tough obstacles and defeating bosses faster. Next, learn to use the right gadget for every situation, not just the one the game marks for puzzles. The shrink ray is not only for shrinking Jimmy to fit through small tunnels: it also stuns larger mutated Twonkies for three full seconds, giving you time to get extra hits in or escape if you are surrounded. The jetpack, unlocked after you complete the first three levels, lets you cross large open chasms – remember to tap the jump button repeatedly to hover longer, instead of holding it down the whole time, to conserve fuel and reach higher platforms. For boss fights, the first major boss, the Giant Twonkie that attacks Retroville Mall, has a clear glowing weak spot on its belly: wait for it to charge at you, dodge out of the way, then hit the belly three times with your plasma blaster to take it down quickly. For the final Twonkie Queen boss fight, do not waste all your ammo attacking her directly. Instead, lure her into the four containment portals scattered around the arena – each time she is pulled into a portal she takes massive damage, and you only need to trap her four times to win. Do not forget to explore every off-the-beaten path in each level: hidden areas hold extra lives, extra scrap metal, and collectible baby Twonkies.
